Writers are like sculptors, except we have to actually create the stone our book will be
carved from.
First drafts are that enormous, unwieldy, rough chunk of marble from which
our work will eventually emerge. It’s a mammoth task.
And all the while you’re creating this massive lump of stone you have to keep on believing that deep
inside it somewhere, is something beautiful.
Yours, from the marble mine,
Edwina
my block is fresh and clean and waiting for the first mark to be carved –
eeeeeek ! but wonderful too!
Good luck Fave. But first you’ve got to create the stone – that’s the first draft, and chip away at that until you find your true story. YOU CAN DO IT!
