FLY HIGH

eagle flying

Fly high

“I am a big bird winging over high mountains

And down into serene valleys

I am ripples of waves on silver seas

I am a spring leaf trembling in anticipation.”

Wouldn’t take nothing from my journey now

INTERRUPTIONS

Yep, it happens.

Rushing along full tilt, almost half-way through the new novel and BANG! Busy-ness intrudes. Yesterday I was flat out with yoga teaching, social duties, children and cooking and cleaning (and yes, I confess I did get a massage!) and today the same. Busy busy busy. Teaching and editing. Paid work must always come first, unfortunately.

Two days without a word written.

I could fume and fret and stay up till the wee hours forcing out strained pages, but as Mark Tredinnick in “The Little Red Writing Book” points out: sometimes a break is just what you need so you can catch your breath and give your brain a bit of space to play around before you move on.

So I won’t whinge, I’ll wonder instead.
